Your favorite Spotify playlists can now sound better throughout your home. CasaTunes supports Spotify Lossless, bringing more detail to music played on a compatible CasaTunes system. Spotify Lossless is available to eligible Premium subscribers and supports audio up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC.
CasaTunes also supports gain normalization. Songs are mastered at different loudness levels, so moving from one track to the next can bring an unexpected jump or drop in volume. Gain normalization helps keep playback levels more consistent, making playlists and longer listening sessions more comfortable. Spotify applies loudness normalization across playback formats, including lossless.
Together, these improvements give CasaTunes listeners higher quality Spotify playback with more consistent levels from song to song. Actual lossless playback depends on the track, Spotify settings, network connection, and supported playback equipment.
You can now assign Spotify accounts to specific CasaTunes sources. For example, if you configured your sources so each family member has thieir own dedicated source (recommended), then you can assign their Spotify account to it. This helps everyone listen independently without interfering or inadvertently using the wrong Spotify account. If two rooms use the same Spotify account, starting music in the second room pauses playback in the first, which can be confusing.

CasaTunes now lets you choose which rooms and room groups appear as Spotify Connect speakers. By default, all rooms and room groups are published. You can limit the list to only include the ones your household uses with Spotify Connect.
