Internet Radio and Music

CasaTunes currently supports several different Internet music services, including the popular TuneIn Radio (formerly, RadioTime) and SHOUTcast Internet radio services.
 
Some of the features that are common across all the music services we support include:

• Playing multiple stations in different rooms.  Each CasaTunes Player can be tuned to a different Internet station, so for example, using our CasaTunes XLe music server you can listen to nine different stations in different rooms at the same time.
• Simplified browsing and searching for your favorite stations, using the station name, location, genres or what’s playing, using any of your browser, iPhone, iPad or Android Phone and Tablet applications.  You can even perform a search across all music services.

TuneIn Radio

CasaTunes includes support for the popular TuneIn Radio music service (formally, RadioTime), an Internet radio service with over 50,000 channels of music, talk, programming, news, events and sports, all organized for easy browsing or searching of your favorite stations.

Although TuneIn allows you to listen to many local AM, FM, HD and DAB/DAB+ stations over the Internet, if you have a hardware based tuner we will use the information from the TuneIn directory to automatically pre-populate your local station information for your tuners. In addition to local US channels, TuneIn brings a large collection of worldwide programming and is a welcome addition for our rapidly growing non-US customer base.

You can also access TuneIn on the web at tunein.com. Although not required, you can personalize TuneIn by creating a free account. Once you have created a free TuneIn account, CasaTunes can use this information to improve your TuneIn Radio experience by more accurately pinpointing the radio stations for your local area and by allowing you to save, organize and share your TuneIn favorites or “My Presets”.

SHOUTcast

The SHOUTcast Radio Directory is one of the largest directories of professionally and community programmed online radio stations in the world. Today SHOUTcast Radio features over 35,000 stations from around the globe.
