CasaTunes has always been a leader in multi-room audio systems and now we lead again with the industries first Android multi-room controller apps; the CasaTunes Control app, and the CasaTunes App for Tablets.
The Android apps build on CasaTunes' strength by following our guidelines of simple and versatile. Easily control your CasaTunes music in any room in the house from anywhere in your home, wirelessly. Available in Tablet or Phone editions. Click on the Tablet to see a demo of the Andriod Tablet app.
Room Control
In the "Now Playing" screen, shown above on Samsung Galaxy 10.1 and HTC Evo, you have complete control of the music playing in the selected room. Change volume using your Android's hard volume buttons or pause, stop, play, and turn the room's power on and off. Even change where you are in a song, if it is an iTunes or Windows Media song. The Tablet edition also shows the currently playing queue of songs, so you can go to a different song quickly or shuffle the list of songs. With the Tablet app, you can scroll the queue on the left side of the screen independently from the Now Playing screen on the right side.
Control of playing music
In the Phone edition, click on the queue button in the Now Playing screen and you go to the "Queue" view, shown right. In the Tablet app, the queue is always present on the Now Playing (home) screen. For both apps, you can edit the playing queue, reshuffle the queue, save the queue as a playlist for easy selection in the future, or empty the queue.
Room Selection
Click on the "Room" button in the Now Playing screen to change the room you are controlling. The window that opens also lets you change the power settings in any room in the house from this one screen.
Source Selection
Click on "Select Music" (Phone edition) or "Sources" (Tablet edition) in the Now Playing screen to change sources in the "Select Source" window. Pick any source and start listening to the music that is playing from that source in your selected room.
Music Selection - Phone edition
When the Select Source window is open, simply click on a "Change" button to change the music playing from a source. In the music selection screens that open up you can pick the type of music, including iTunes, Windows Media, MP3Tunes, TuneIn radio, SHOUTcast, etc. Then you pick the item(s) you want to hear. You can even mix and match iTunes and Windows Media music. For example, you can select songs from your iTunes collection and hit "Play Now" and then add songs from your family member's Windows Media collection by clicking on "Add to Queue". One queue can have songs mixed from iTunes, multiple iPods and Windows Media. Or, you can pick an internet radio station. Find a local station or a type of music and listen to your favorite.
Favorite stations or music selections are easily saved in the Now Playing screen using the "Save as Playlist" button in the Android Menu.
Music Selection - Tablet edition
You can go to the Select Music part of the app either by by clicking on any of the "Browse" buttons in the Sources pulldown, similar to the Android Phone app OR you can just click on the Browse Music button in the Tablet's Action Bar at the top of the screen. In Portrait mode or smaller devices, you will find Browse Music in the Android Options Menu at the upper right corner of your Tablet. In the music selection screens that open up you can pick the type of music, including iTunes, Windows Media, MP3Tunes, TuneIn Radio, SHOUTcast, etc. Then you pick the item(s) you want to hear. You can even mix and match. For example, you can select songs from your iTunes collection and hit "Play Now" and then add songs from your family member's Windows Media collection or from multiple iPods that are connected to the server, by clicking on "Add to Queue". One queue can have songs mixed from iTunes, multiple iPods and Windows Media. Or, you can pick an internet radio station. Find a local station or a type of music and listen to your favorite.

Favorite stations or music selections are easily saved in the Now Playing screen using the "Save as Playlist" button in the Android Options Menu (upper right corner of your Tablet).
Browse by Album Covers
When browsing for music to play, both the Phone and Tablet editions include album covers when selecting from albums. The Android app is so fast and powerful that all of your album covers can be quickly scrolled up and down. If you prefer to view by names, you can change the way albums are displayed in System Setup, available in the Android Options Menu in the Now Playing screen.

Search Music
CasaTunes has powerful search capabilities. Your Android device uses CasaTunes' search capability and adds Google's accurate voice search. Within the CasaTunes Android app you can click on the Android search button (in the Action Bar at the top of the Tablet screen) or pick search from the Android menu and the search screen will open. If you do this while in the Now Playing screen, the currently playing artist's name will pre-populate the search screen. Or, you can click on the microphone button and use Google voice recognition to pick a search item. All of CasaTune's services will be searched, finding results from Internet Radio stations and from the songs you have on your hard drive or in the cloud on MP3Tunes (results of a typical search shown right). By first going to the Select Music screens and selecting a particular service and then doing the search, you can narrow down the results to just the music from that service.
Wake to Music
One of the most popular features in CasaTunes is the ability to add wakeup schedules in various rooms. With the Android app it is easy to create a wakeup schedule with start time, end time, source selection, days of the week, etc. You can even tell CasaTunes what volume the music should be at when it turns on! And of course, you can temporarily turn the schedule off without removing it, if you wish.
Miscellaneous
The CasaTunes Android app has many other features, from changing the bass and treble levels in a room to setting "sleep to music" times. The best way to check it out is to go to the Tablet App in Android Market for the Tablet app and the Phone App in Android Market for the Phone app and download them to your Android devices. It does require CasaTunes running on a computer in your LAN. If you don't have CasaTunes, check out the CasaTunes trial software.
Best of all, the app is FREE!
Want to be able to just glance at your phone or tablet to see who the artist is for the currently playing song? Or quickly turn the power on or off in a room? You can do both and more with the CasaTunes Widget for Android. Once installed, just turn on your phone and the Widget is ready, displaying the cover art of the playing music, when available, and the metadata. You can view whats playing in any room by clicking on the room button and changing rooms. Touch the power button to change the power setting in the current room or use the all off or all on buttons in the room selector to quickly silence the house when leaving! Touch the CasaTunes logo whenever you need to use the full CasaTunes app. To save battery life, the app goes into idle mode when your device's WiFi is turned off. When you are ready to use it again, touch the Widget and the full app starts up and turns on the WiFi automatically.
