Hello,

I am using Casa with a Russound CAV 6.6.  I have a home theater listening room, Russound is not in this room, and I would like to be able to create a zone in Casa called “Theater” and have the ability to pull up my music on my WHS through my HAI touch panel via your Casa browser.

To do this, I would program the HAI 10P to turn on the theater except the projector
Set the inputs on the processor to the sound card that is connected from the WHS
Set the lighting
and then direct the panel to the casaweb page, then select Music and enjoy!!!

I just need a way to create a zone in casa so I can control it, but with the Russound set up, I think my hand are tied.

I hope there is a way I can do this.  Thanks
Chris

Chris:
Nice!
I assume you are using all the zone outs on the Russound? If so, and you want to have music from the sound card going directly to the theater you will need to give up one of the Russound Sources. For example, if you are not using source7, you could define it as a CasaTunes Player, pick a free pair of speaker outputs on the sound card and then route the outputs to the theater. The problem will be that you will still need to select a zone from your existing zones to be able to control the source, so this might not be a good suggestion.
I will add to our list of “To-do’s” a suggestion to be able to have more “sources” and “zones” than what are used on the Russound (or Nuvo), so that customers can add additional “virtual zones”, i.e., zones that show up in CasaTunes but are really just one of the source outputs. They would not be able to be switched or added to zone groups, since the zone would be tied to (actually, the same as) the source.
Thanks for the suggestion. Let me know if I misunderstood.

Sorry for the VERY late reply, but you are on the right track.  Please keep me posted if you guys develop something like this.  It could very handy. Another example is my deck.  I do not have a zone there, but I could create a virtual zone and control it.

Thanks again…your product is great!!!!
