Hi Craig,
Because the XLi and XLe have switching hardware along with the audio hardware, we were not able to squeeze it all on a low profile card. It works well with low profile servers that use PCI-e riser cards that allow the XLi or XLe card to lay horizontally (see our new XL Music Server). And because it is not long from end to end, it can fit in cases that are crowded, but it will not fit in low profile slots, sorry!
