We are working as hard as we can to keep adding features to CasaTunes. In the mean time, there is a workaround to play premium music services through CasaTunes. You will be able to select the room or rooms that you want to listen in and the volume in those rooms. You will need to control the music services from outside CasaTunes, usually in a separate browser window on the CasaTunes PC server (or remotely using a remote control program like the free remote desktop from LogMeIn.com). Set up for this by following these instructions and then go to the How to Use section at the bottom.

Vista and Windows 7:
Go to control panel and open the Sound window (under Hardware and Sound). You should see a list of playback devices.
If you are using CasaTunes XL hardware, click on the one that says “Speakers   CasaTunes Multi-Room Audio”. If you are using an audio card or on-board audio as a music source for Nuvo or Russound systems, click on the one that says “Speakers ” with the name of the audio device you are using.
Click on the “Default” button to make this the default audio device. See the Capture.jpg image for an idea of what the Sound window will look like after the default has been selected. Close the Sound Window and the control panel.

XP:
Go to the control panel and open Sounds and Audio Devices. Click on the Audio tab and , under the sound playback section select the default device as CasaTunes Multi-Room Audio if you are using CasaTunes XL hardware or the appropriate sound card or on-board audio device if you are using CasaTunes with Nuvo or Russound systems. Close the window and the control panel.

How to Use:
In the CasaTunes user interface go to any room and select the first CasaTunes music source (you may need to go to CasaTunes Setup to see which source is the first CasaTunes Music Player, but usually it is the first source). Go to Select Music and select one song to play and click on Play Now. Go to View Queue and select Clear All Songs. This will prevent CasaTunes from playing any music on this source (make sure you tell all your family members NOT to select music for this source. In setup, give the source some name that will remind them).
Now, when you use any music service that uses the default audio device it will play through source 1. Although you cannot control the music service in CasaTunes, you can use CasaTunes to select which room(s) to play it in and the volume in those rooms.

has there been any update to this?  Pandora and Slacker seem to be the two most required by clients and it would be nice to be able to control those via the Iphone app without doing a remote login type workaround back to the server…

thanks, can’t wait to install our first one soon, running the prewire next week.

Right now we are wrapping up CasaTunesSync for the Mac.
Advanced Internet Radio services is one of the next items on the list. I can’t give you a time, yet, sorry!!

Sounds like time for an update on this subject.  Besides the above Premium services, add Sky FM Premium to the list.  It seems that Squeezebox keeps up with these services.

For Russound users I think adding a Sonos (or other device with an iPhone control app) would work. You have to switch between apps but thats no biggie.

I’ve thought about the Squeezebox as a possible integration for CasaTunes.  They do have the whole My Apps thing.  The problem for me is that I use CasaTunes Windows Media Center interface to do all.  So there would have to be a lot of work to get Squeezebox integrated.  Probably easier just to wait for the Casa team to advance the CasaTunes software.
