I just want to conifrm - will the XLi card fit and work correctly in a PCIex16 slot?  I have this main board (http://www.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_ID=KjpYqzmAd9vsTM2D&content=specifications) and I’m not sure if the PCIex1 slot will accommodate the card given the heat sink placement.

Thanks.

Yes, the board is designed to work in any PCI-e slot.
By the way, although you are right about the fact that our card drops down and could hit the heatsink, it does look like it could be flexed slightly to clear the heatsink, leaving the x16 clear for other boards in the future. If you do “force” it in, make sure the heatsink does not short out any parts on the board (a little electrical tape could insulate it).
Of course, the safe route would be to just use the x16 slot.
