Can an XLi card be used by software other than CasaTunes?  I really like the XLi hardware but I’d like to keep using the JRiver for my software interface.  JRiver does multi-room by assigning outputs of a soundcard to specific rooms.  Does the XLi card allow for that in Windows?

I’m sorry, Jonathan, although JRiver is a great product, it does not support the XLi/XLe switching functions.
The only thing you could do is use JRiver to manage your music library, run Windows Media Player to add the music to its library (or iTunes) and then refresh the library in CasaTunes. Quite a few steps and I suspect it still won’t give you what you want.
As soon as Apple approves our updated iPhone app we will release v2.70 of CasaTunes (any day now, we hope!!). Take a look at it, you might find that it does the job.
