Is it possible to use (and control) the FM tuner on zone 2 of an Onkyo TX-NR609 as a source? It almost looks like it can control an Onkyo receiver as an FM tuner, but it is not clear. There is no RS232 input, so it would have to be via IP.

What I would like to have happen is that it would turn on zone 2 and set it to the tuner.

If this is not possible with the NR609, are there other receivers that this is possible?

Hi,

I am running Windows 7 with an XLi card on a Intel i5 PC with 4MbRAM and my music files are managed by Windows media player.
Every time I restart my PC I get:

CasaTunes Startup Status
Please wait for CasaTunes to finish initializing…
Status: Building Windows media Library

This takes about 45 min. until finished.
Is there a way I can get around this?

Thanx, Marco

To use my BlackBerry as a remote device for the Casatunes system, I went on to my router and forwarded port 80 (HTTP) on my mediaserver machine. I also made a new Bare Bones Configuration BBC that had everything be xsmall in the config file so that I log in with xx.xx.xxx.xxx/?config=BBC. This does not work when using the BB default browser. Instead, I am using BOLT (tried Opera Mini and it didn’t work too well) and am able to control the mediaserver. However, because Casatunes is dynamic in updating items such as the length of the song remaining etc, it is very slow over this type of connection. For instance to choose a room, you need to arrow down and then wait while the browser reloads. This only takes it down 1 room, however. I have 10 zones on my system and so to get from the first to the last takes a significant amount of time. It would be nice to have a very minimal, somewhat static configuration. I can see how that would also be helpful with a small wifi enabled device like an iTouch or Pocket PC.

I am currently running casatunes on a dual core intel processor dell PC that is very power hungry and heats up easily. I am wanting to go green and conserve power with a more efficient PC.

My question is if I build a smaller pc with just a SSD 40GIG hardrive to store Windows 7 and casatunes will I loose any functunality pulling all of my music from a Qnap NAS vs. having it stored on the PC? Will I have any issues with syncing or album art?

I look forward to your response, thank you.

I have casatunes running on a Vista box in my server closet. In my kitchen I have a vista box that is used for youtubing and occaisional tv viewing. It has crappy speakers integrated into the monitor. What I would like to do is have the option of streaming the audio from that PC to my Kitchen Zone on Casatunes.

I wondered if “play to” in windows 7 might address this but I am not in any rush to upgrade that box. Is there a way to configure an casa audio driver to out put the audio the right zone?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I have fed the line output from my TV back to my PC with Casatunes XLE installed and connected to External Source 1.

I was going to us it when listening to music so I could use the main speakers rather than the TV ones.

It all works perfectly except that casatunes is introducing a very small delay (<0.5 secs I would guess), but is noticeable and annoying when watching music videos.

If I connect the TV direct to the amp it is fine. (But obviously then I have to fiddle about with cables every time!).

Any way to reduce this delay or get rid of it?

Thanks
