Hi there!

I’m planning to implement Casatunes into my future house. I really think that castatunes is a great product. However, I’m not quite happy with the original keypads. Therefore I want the NuVo Controlpads to be the only pieces from the NuVo-System used with Casatunes.

To be more specific: Following control pads would be my choice:
NV-E6GCP or NV-I8GCP found on http://www.nuvotechnologies.com/controls.htm#control2

Now to my questions:

Do they simply work without any problems/limitations with casatunes or do I need to buy additonal NuVo System parts?

I hope having to buy a Casatunes Server, the 6-room Amplifier, and the above mentioned keypads from NuVo WITHOUT HAVING A “RENOVIA or GRAND CONCERTO system!.... possible?

If yes - Which Casatunes product do I need? The music server for NuVo, or the XLi (Why are there different prices?) Must the firstly mentioned system be added to an already installed NuVo System??? -Or do I need this one to work with the NuVo Control Pads, because of different wiring or anything?
I am confused…

Your help is greatly appreciated

Hi,

My keypads stopped working with Casatunes as soon as I installed version 2.80. They still work with other sources like tuners, but now I can’t control Casatunes Music server and they can’t display information about music playing.

Restarted Nuvo GC but it did not help. What should I do now ?

Thank you,

Can you confirm if this Nuvo version has been tested with CasaTunes? From the forum it appears v2.56 was the last version confirmed for CT?

I’m currently doing a retro fit install of Casatunes with a customer’s existing Nuvo GC system. It’s been quite some time since I installed CasaTunes with a Nuvo GC system since I moved to working with the XLe system, so I’ve got a question about how zone names get set. Unlike with CT and the XLe controller, I see during the CT setup that I can’t name the zones (fields are locked out). Can you confirm that CT gets the zone names (as configured inside the Nuvo Configurator software) once the CT server is connected to the Grand Concerto? I think I’m having problems using a Keyspan USB to RS232 converter so I got stuck at that point and didn’t see zone names get updated on the CT user interface. I guess that leads to a second question, do you guys know of any compatibility problems with the Keyspan USB/RS232 units (4 port version in this case)? I’ve used them before and don’t recall having any issues communicating with CasaTunes.

Thanks,

I am looking to integrate Casatunes into my windows media center environment, along with my Nuvo Grand Concerto installation. I see on your site that you have a Nuvo NV-NNA nuvonet adapter available to connect between the casatunes software and the nuvo devices. I also have found on Nuvo’s own site the NV-MP Nuvo Music Port device which looks like it does the same sort of thing, along with their (not as good ;-) music port software instead of casatunes. My question is, would the NV-MP hardware device work with Casatunes the same way as the NV-NNA device would, in that they are the intermediary to communicate the serial commands to the nuvo devices?

In your “using the nv-nna with casatunes” support document you specify that the NV-NNA should be selected even if you are using an NV-MP device, however you call it a “multi-port” vs music port. Am I reading that correctly to think that you CAN use the NV-MP device to perform the same features as the NV-NNA device?

Any help clarifying this would be greatly appreciated, or if anyone else out there has tried this I’d love to know.
